The ingredients needed to make Beef pilau:
  1. Prepare 1/2 kg rice
  2. Prepare 500 g meat
  3. Get 4 big potatoes
  4. Take 1 tbsp garlic/ginger paste
  5. Prepare 2 onions
  6. Prepare 1 tbs pilau masala
  7. Take 1/2 cup oil
  8. Prepare Salt
  9. Take 1 tps tomato paste

Pilau is a rice dish that is cooked in a seasoned broth, with some pieces of beef, chicken and sometimes peas, nuts and raisins, and whose brown. If any pilau is left over, store in the fridge for up to two days. Shape into small patties, and pan fry with a little oil and serve with ketchup or a relish of your choice. Add the Beef and then the pilau mix.

Instructions to make Beef pilau:
  1. Heat oil, then add the meat and fry till they become dry and brown
  2. Cut meat wash and drain water
  3. Add onions, cook for a while so as to get the brown colour
  4. Add the ginger and garlic paste. Then after like 2minutes add salt, pilau masala, potatoes and tomato paste, after sometime add water and bring to boil.
  5. Clean rice and add to mixture. On medium to low heat cook untill the water is dried up. Note:you should only cover it when almost dried up
  6. Serve with kachumbari or guacamole

Let the spices burn a bit and add salt. Add the tomatoes and red bell pepper followed by potatoes. Great use of beef stew meat! Wonderful beef stew with coriander, coconut and tomatoes. This is a dish from East Africa, but has lots of Indian influence.
