Pilau is a rice dish that is cooked in a seasoned broth, with some pieces of beef, chicken and sometimes peas, nuts and raisins, and whose brown.   3. Cook 1-2min till carrot softens. Add hot water cover pot with lid and simmer 45mi -1hour until meat is very tender
  4. Layer the rice onto the meat season with some salt. Pour in hot water to cook rice. Uncover 10-12min
  5. Sprikle coriander powder onto almost cooked rice and push the bulb of garlic making sure the cloves are exposed
  6. Cover and reduce temperature. Remove bulb of garlic serve pilau

Let the spices burn a bit and add salt. Add the tomatoes and red bell pepper followed by potatoes. Great use of beef stew meat! Wonderful beef stew with coriander, coconut and tomatoes. This is a dish from East Africa, but has lots of Indian influence.
