- Take 250 gms beef
- Make ready 1.5 glass rice
- Take 2 glasses water
- Take 1 big onion
- Prepare cloves Garlic

- Take Pilau masala

Pilau is a rice dish that is cooked in a seasoned broth, with some pieces of beef, chicken and sometimes peas, nuts and raisins, and whose brown. If any pilau is left over, store in the fridge for up to two days. Shape into small patties, and pan fry with a little oil and serve with ketchup or a relish of your choice. Add the Beef and then the pilau mix.
Steps to make Beef pilau:
- Wash and boil you beef with some salt
- Wash and soak your rice for some mins as you wait for the beef to boil
- When the beef is ready, put the beef in a separate bowl and use the same pot.add some cooking oil.(a little more then we use for Normal rice to avoid it being so dry)
- When the oil is hot enough add your chopped onions…(hot oil gives that nice smell when you put onions)stirl until soft.
- Add garlic chopped..add your spices now…stirl until the onions are brown…. (The brown onions will give they brown colour to the rice).but don't let them turn black.
- Add water,adjust your salt to your liking…drain the rice and add it to the beef stir to have i t uniformed. Cover and let it cook under low heat.
- Before it dries up switch off the heat and let it simmer.
- Serve with kachumbari salad
Let the spices burn a bit and add salt. Add the tomatoes and red bell pepper followed by potatoes. Great use of beef stew meat! Wonderful beef stew with coriander, coconut and tomatoes. This is a dish from East Africa, but has lots of Indian influence.
