- Prepare 1 cup raw rice (Basumathi rice)

Instructions to make Curd Rice:
- Add one cup of rice to 2 cups of boiling water and cook till the rice is soft.
- Take out from fire,and mix the rice with 2 cups of curd and required salt.Now splutter the mustard seed in the hot oil in a pan,add jeerakam,urad dal,redchilly,followed by grated ginger,curry leaves,green chilly, and asafoetida powder.Take out from fire and add these to the rice-curd mixture.Mix thoroughly.Serve hot or cold.Decorate with grated carrot and corriander leaves on the top.
